A Plain-English Explainer for Shelter Directors

The Problem It Solves

Most shelter websites show visitors a grid of animal photos with names, ages, and breeds.

That is it.

No personality. No story. No reason for a visitor to feel anything before they leave.

Donors and adopters land on these pages, scroll for a few seconds, and close the tab. Not because they do not care about animals. Because nothing on the page gave them a reason to care about a specific one.

BarkLogue fixes that.

What It Actually Does

BarkLogue gives each animal in your shelter an AI-powered voice.

When a visitor lands on your website, they can open a chat and talk directly with one of your animals. The animal responds with personality, stories, and details that your staff already know but that have never had anywhere to go.

The conversation feels warm and real because it is built from real information. Your staff provide the details. The AI uses those details to create a genuine, individual voice for each animal.

After a few exchanges, when the visitor is emotionally connected, a donation prompt appears naturally. Not a pop-up. Not a timer. A moment that feels earned.

How It Works in Three Steps

Step 1: You tell us about your animals

You add each animal to your BarkLogue dashboard. Personality traits, energy level, habits, what they love, how they interact with people. The more you share, the richer the voice. This takes around 10 to 15 minutes per animal.

Step 2: BarkLogue builds their character

The AI takes the information you provided and creates a warm, natural personality for each animal. A goofy Labrador who tells you about his favourite toy. A quiet senior cat who explains exactly which chair is hers and why no one else should sit in it.

You review and approve each profile before it goes live. Nothing is published without your sign-off.

Step 3: You paste one line of code onto your website

That is the entire installation. One snippet, copied into your website header. It works on any platform including WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, and custom-built sites.

From that point forward, visitors to your website can chat with your animals at any time of day without any involvement from your team.

What It Looks Like for a Donor

A donor visits your website on a Sunday evening.

They see a chat widget in the corner of the screen. It says: talk to one of our animals.

They click it and choose a dog named Max.

Max introduces himself. He tells them about the tennis ball he carries everywhere. He mentions that he is a little nervous around loud noises but that he is getting braver. He asks the donor what their home is like.

The donor replies. The conversation continues for a few minutes.

Then Max says something like: if you want to help me find my home, there is something you can do right now.

The donation option appears.

The donor gives because they just spent five minutes talking to someone they now care about.

What It Does Not Require From Your Team

BarkLogue was built around one question.

What happens if a staff member sets this up and then never logs in again?

The answer had to be: the animals still have a voice. Donors still get engaged. Donations still come in.

Once the initial profiles are set up, the system runs without ongoing management. When a new animal arrives, you add their profile. When an animal is adopted, you mark them as adopted and they are removed from the chat.

That is the extent of the ongoing work.
